It was a fine day for a march, not too hot or humid, and most folks in fine spirits despite everything else that's going on in our world. A one-day vacation.
The women on their motorcycles always lead the march, and my pal Alyssa rides with The Sirens MC. (And for the past couple years Jill rides with Alyssa.)
I generally only stand for a couple hours to see the beginning of the March. Countless years I marched the whole route, and a number of years I jumped in for part of it. These days, I'm happy to be out in the street with my pal Margaret. I watch and photograph the beginning, and leave the endurance portion of the event to the young'uns.
This year, we ended the day with a sunset/fireworks harbor cruise and I hope to do that again. Such a gorgeous way to end the day! My heart was very full.

Hard to believe that the 25th Anniversary marking Stonewall Uprising was twenty five years ago! Blink, and it's a whole new generation standing next to you. I remember following the teams and events all over the city at the Gay Games in 1994--and dancing, and marching!
2019 will mark the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising and a half-century of LGBTQ+ liberation. Amazing strides towards equality have happened in my lifetime. I do hope that we can stop these Equal Rights from being stripped away. March if you are able, and make sure to vote in November. That statue in the harbor still stands for all of us.
